We are looking for an experienced Events Manager to plan and bring to fruition a wide variety of events at Finsley Gate Wharf. These events will be impactful to various audiences and will be imaginative, successful, and cost-effective.
The Events Manager will be required to communicate with the General Manager and to also liaise with the Community Engagement Officer of the Canal River Trust.
The Events Manager’s role requires an understanding of marketing and promotion techniques, exceptional communication and organisational skills, understanding of target audience requirements, and budget preparation. The ability to manage client communications and to create and negotiate contracts is key.
The successful candidate is able to create events and bring the vision to real-life, to make suggestions to enhance the success, and to have an eye for new and exciting experiences. Duties for the Events Manager will include managing operational costs, allocating budget resources, meeting Health and Safety regulations, engaging with clients, and ensuring good customer service.
The role is hands-on and will involve the ability to delegate whilst also working with a team.
The Events Manager will contribute to making Finsley Gate Wharf a successful, unique location known for its variety of exciting experiences.
Events Manager responsibilities include:
Planning of events from start to finish, acknowledging requirements, target audience and objectives
Preparing budgets and ensuring adherence
Sourcing and negotiating with vendors, suppliers, entertainers, and personnel
Coordinating all operations
Leading promotional activities for the events
Confirming and approving all aspects leading up to and during the events
Ensuring the events run smoothly and resolving any problems that may occur
Analysing success and generating reports
Events Manager requirements include:
- Proven experience as an events manager
- To be skilled in project management
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Qualifications in marketing, hospitality, or a related field
- A team player with leadership qualities
- Highly organised with a strong work ethic
- Good interpersonal skills
