We are looking for a Wedding Planner to promote, plan and execute weddings at our unique waterside venue.

Our Wedding Planner will be responsible for the effective and efficient promotion, planning, and execution of weddings to a highly professional level. They will be creative and artistic with excellent communication and people skills.

The role requires working with the client and to the clients’ budget providing services from Finsley Gate Wharf. The Wedding Planner will work closely with the client advising on wedding customs and etiquettes and providing solutions to ensure the client has their dream wedding day.

Good negotiation skills are necessary for dealing with other vendors and service providers such as photographers, videographers, entertainers, and florists.

An ability to bring the clients vision to fruition and an eye for immaculate detail are key to this role. The Wedding Planner should promote all wedding activities, support fellow staff to help deliver an excellent customer experience, protect and enhance the business image, drive sales and increase revenue. Ultimately, to help Finsley Gate Wharf Ltd become a desirable and successful wedding venue.

The successful candidate should have prior experience in wedding planning, events planning and/or other hospitality services.


Wedding Planner responsibilities include:

  • Being physically present on the day of the wedding to ensure the wedding plan is followed exactly
  • Liaising with contractors and contributors involved with the wedding to confirm attendance and the exact duties required from them
  • Communicating with council officials to meet official guidelines
  • Handling the guest list and ensuring the comfort of guests
  • Foreseeing any unexpected situations and dealing with them smoothly and efficiently
  • Planning the layout of the wedding to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Ensuring adequate provision of food and facilities for guests and to plan for adequate and effective clean-up procedures after the event
  • Keeping the client updated throughout the planning process and to meet the clients’ requirements
  • Liaising with service providers and to ensure smooth delivery of such services
  • Keeping a financial record of the wedding


Wedding Planner requirements include:

  • A degree or experience in Marketing, Events Planning, Advertising, Hotel or Hospitality Management, or in other related areas
  • Ideally have an established relationship with other service providers i.e. Florists, printers, photographers, musicians
  • To keep regularly updated and knowledgeable about trends within the wedding industry
  • To communicate with council officials and meet official guidelines
  • Ability to listen to and understand exactly the clients’ requirements and expectations
  • The ability to delegate wedding protocol to fellow team members
  • The ability to calmly handle unplanned situations and to provide solutions swiftly and without attention
  • Have meticulous attention to detail
  • To keep a list of equipment necessary for the wedding, e.g. computers, speakers, backdrop, chairs, tables, etc.
  • To communicate with the General Manager and be intimately knowledgeable of the ethos and procedures of Finsley Gate Wharf Ltd
